Project Info
JPS has recently completed the civil and structural design for Kings Crescent, a £6m new build residential development in Derby city centre for Grace Construction. The scheme involved the design of a contiguous piled retaining wall to form an under-croft car park, a concrete podium slab and a steel and composite concrete framed superstructure.
JPS coordinated the Site Investigations and ensured timely discharge of planning conditions relating to drainage and land contamination through close liaison with the relevant authorities. The building is located on the site of a former train tunnel, so the JPS geotechnical specialists undertook extensive ground investigations and designed civils works including temporary retaining walls and propping to allow the redundant section of tunnel to be excavated whilst retaining the remaining tunnel which supports the adjacent highways.
