Project overview
JPS Civil & Structural Design provided structural engineering services for the refurbishment of Loggerheads Visitor Centre in Denbighshire. Working in collaboration with TACP Architects Ltd, the project focused on enhancing and modernising key areas of the visitor centre through a series of structural interventions. The scope included designing foundations for new canopies and external timber posts, introducing a new steel frame to redefine the entrance area, and providing steel beams and lintels to facilitate new structural openings. These improvements were designed to support the refurbishment works while enhancing the functionality and appearance of the facility.
The engineering challenge
The scheme presented several challenges including:
