Project Info

Working alongside Lovelock Mitchell Architects and IPS Process Engineers, JPS provided the structural design for this new £75m pharmaceutical production facility located on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

The scheme involved the remediation of a brownfield site and ground improvement techniques to allow the new production facility to be constructed as a steel frame on piled foundations.

The structure included long span, storey-height steel trusses to create a column-free production floor below the plant space located within the truss depth. The frame was designed in steel with composite concrete floors and adhered to strict structural performance requirements in terms of deflections and vibrations.

The JPS team completed the full structural design for the scheme including the steel frame, secondary steelwork, composite floors, ground slabs and reinforced concrete service trenches as well as the piled foundations.
