JPS assisted Read Construction with the delivery of this Zero Carbon in Operation new Welsh medium primary school in Flint, North Wales.

JPS provided full civil and structural design services for this £15.9m development which started on site in early 2024.

The school was officially handed over the the client, Flint County Council in Autumn 2025. It is a two-storey building with capacity for 240 pupils. Room has also been left to increase this to 420 pupils if there is the demand in the future. There is also  standalone building which houses a part-time nursery with capacity for 30.

The school is designed for the zero carbon agenda. JPS, together with Lovelock Mitchell Architects and Davies Partnership worked together to establish the optimum layout, orientation, materials and renewable technology required to ensure Operational Net Zero. The building was constructed using advanced structural insulated panels, achieving outstanding energy efficiency. 

The site features hard and soft landscaping, a rain garden, a floodlit Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), external football and rounders pitches, and natural play areas designed by Land Studio.
