JPS is a chartered engineering company based in Chester. We offer civil and structural engineering design services to private and public sector clients. After almost 10 years in business, JPS has successfully delivered a portfolio of complex projects including commercial, industrial and local authority schemes as well as a broad range of domestic new-builds, house extensions and loft conversions.

JPS was founded by Jonathan Paull in 2016 and currently has 17 members of staff, including 13 structural and civil engineers and 3 BIM technicians working across two offices, in Chester and Glasgow.

Structural engineering design

Our highly skilled team of Structural Engineers have the knowledge and experience to design all types of structures. From simple beam calculations to complex structural analysis, our structural team are here to support you and your project by delivering safe, efficient and cost effective designs.

Our Engineers have an in-depth knowledge of codes of practice and building regulations. The team regularly design in a range of structural materials including steelwork, reinforced concrete, timber, masonry and structural glass. From domestic extensions to complex multi-storey buildings incorporating basements and retaining structures, our team of engineers will liaise with the design team to ensure designs are coordinated and will support the construction team through the build process.

Drainage & highways design

Our experienced Civil Engineers have the technical skills and knowledge to design the drainage, highways and external works elements for your project.

At JPS, our engineers can design your underground foul and surface water drainage networks, pumping stations, package treatment plants. They will liaise with sewerage undertakers, local authorities and approval bodies to ensure that the relevant consents and adoption agreements are in place and that planning conditions are discharged in a timely manner.

From outline drainage strategies through to 3D modelling and detailed construction information, our infrastructure team will support your project to ensure everything runs smoothly and will deliver effective & efficient designs.

BIM services and 3D modelling

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is transforming the way in which the built environment is designed and managed throughout each project life cycle.

JPS use a range of 3D modelling software packages to create and coordinate our design deliverables. Our Engineers and BIM technicians use Revit, PDS and Civils 3D as our default drawing software, allowing us to build digital models and prototypes that allow any aspect of a design’s performance to be simulated and assessed before it is built.

Temporary works designs

JPS offers temporary works designs to contractors including temporary propping arrangements, temporary bases to cabins and hoardings and advice on temporary groundworks supports.

JPS delivers highly efficient structural solutions that take account of site logistics, buildability and temporary works constraints.

Building regs calculations

Our Engineers are well known to the local authority building control teams. They provide detailed and well presented building regulations calculations and drawings that will ensure your project gains building control approval in a timely manner.

JPS is held in high regard by the local authorities across North Wales and the North West as a team of engineers who present clear and concise design information across a wide range of project sizes and complexities.
